Connect Gmail

  1. Create an app password Turn on 2-Step Verification on the Google account. Create an app password at myaccount.google.com/apppasswords, choose Mail, and copy the 16-character password.
  2. Save it in TidyWise In Settings, then Emails, enter the Gmail address and the app password, then save. The password is stored encrypted and is not shown again. Leave it blank later to keep the saved one.
  3. Send a test After the address and password are saved, send a test from that card. The test goes through Gmail, so an error is Gmail's response. Choose Personal Gmail or Google Workspace so the screen knows which account you connected.

What Gmail does not replace

This connection sends the client emails you configure. It does not sync a Google Calendar, and it does not import old Gmail threads into the CRM.

If Gmail is not connected, client email falls back to the shared sender. Replies to mail that did send from Gmail land in that Gmail inbox.

Can I use a Google Workspace address?

Yes. Email settings let you mark the account as personal Gmail or Google Workspace. Both use an app password, not your normal Google password.
